Illearth War

The wraparound cover for the novel of the same name by Stephen R. Donaldson, released as a special edition from Grim Oak Press.

It was decided early on that Elena, the High Lord, a beautiful and tragic character, would be the focus for the cover of this second book in the series. So many great and terrible things happen throughout this epic tale of war and I felt the best way to depict that chaos on the cover was an architectural intersection of man-made stone intertwining with nature behind the High Lord’s portrait.
